Notice of Chinese New Year Holidays

Dear Colleagues:

　　We are writing to inform you that this year we will be celebrating the Chinese New Year from February 2 to February 10, 2019.  The Taiwan Intellectual Property Office will be closed during the said period.  All deadlines falling during the period will be automatically extended to February 11 (Mon.), 2019.  However, kindly note that January 19, 2019 (Sat.) will be a working day in Taiwan to accommodate the extended holidays.  Any deadlines for Taiwan applications falling on January 19, 2019 will NOT be postponed.

　　Incidentally, the China National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC (CNIPA) will be also temporarily closed from February 4 to February 10, 2019.  All deadlines falling during the period will be automatically extended to February 11 (Mon.), 2019.  However, February 2 & February 3 will be working days in China.  The trademark-related deadlines fall on February 2 & February 3 can NOT be extended, though the patent-related deadlines can.

　　Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Patent Department will be temporarily closed from February 5 to February 7, 2019.  All deadlines falling during this period will be automatically extended to February 8 (Fri.), 2019.  Nevertheless, our office is closed from February 2 to February 10, 2019, and we will not resume normal business operation until February 11 (Mon.), 2019.

　　Therefore, we would appreciate if all urgent cases and instructions are received no later than January 30, 2019.
