On November 10, 2015, Tsai, Lee & Chen celebrated its 20th anniversary by hosting a one-day international IP seminar at Grand Hyatt hotel. There were about 200 international IP professionals and domestic guests from local companies attending.

The founding Partner Mr. Thomas Q.T. Tsai delivered an opening remarking welcoming the participation of the attendees and briefed the firm’s history. As a great honor to the firm, Ms. Mei-hua Wang, the Director General of the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office, generously gave an informative speech on the current situation at TIPO and its future challenges. Subsequently, Ms. Joanne Wang, Manager of the IP Division of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacture Company (TSMC), shared some experience and ideas about IP prosecution and enforcement from the company’s perspective. Followed by Ms. Wang’s speech, our partners Ms. Candy Chen and Crystal Chen reviewed annual cases for Taiwan and China.

The morning session of the seminar concluded after a fine luncheon where attendees enjoyed some exquisite Taiwanese cuisines.
In the afternoon, each of the 14 international speakers prepared a 20-30 minutes talk briefing on current IP topics in their own jurisdictions including European Union, Germany, USA, Japan, Israel, Korea, Africa, etc., separated in different venues. The speakers tailored their talks to the interest of the Taiwanese companies, who concern much about their global IP strategy. The afternoon sessions successfully attracted great discussions between the speakers and audience.

The one day event rounded up with a cocktail reception and a formal banquet with our international guests in the evening.
