Representative Attorney Victor S.C. Lee of TSAI, LEE & CHEN Attends Cross-strait Trademark Forum 2014
On July 17, the Cross-strait Trademark Forum 2014 was held in Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People’s of Republic of China. The 46 delegation team members came from the Taiwan Intellectual Property Court, the Petitions and Appeals Committee of Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office (TIPO), and the private enterprises represented Taiwan for this meeting, while over 100 members from the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the Trademark Office, the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board, the Administration for Industry and Commerce at provincial and municipal levels, and the China Trademark Association and its membersrepresented China.
TheTrademark Forum focused on the new China’s Trademark Law and the its Implementing Regulations effectuatedon May 1, 2014.Its sessions included“Trademark Infringements and Damage Compensation,”“Trademark Registration and Protection System,”“Trademark Dispute System,” “Establishment and Development of National Brands,” and so forth.
The representative of TIPO presented in-depth analysis on the discrepancies in trademark practices and legal systems across the Strait. TSAI, LEE & CHEN has never been absent from the Cross-Strait Trademark Forum over the years. Attorney Victor S.C. Lee, who represented TSAI, LEE & CHENto attend the forum this year, was closely interacting with the representatives of cross-strait experts and private enterprises, and further strengthening the foundationsof future multidimensional cooperation.
