The following is the summary of this new revision:
1. Principally, the registration fee of one class of trademark has raised to four thousand NT dollars from two thousand and five hundred NT dollars. In addition, the registration fee will be charged according to the volume of the designated class of each trademark. If the designation of class of one trademark is under 20, each application will be charged for four thousand NT dollars; under 60 and over 21, six thousand NT dollars; over 61, ten thousand dollars. Normally, the change of registered particulars of a trademark before the Trademark Authority’s approval includes (1) the change of trademark design; (2) the change of goods designated goods; (3) the change of the service mark designated; and the change of the class of trademark and other registered particulars. In accordance with the rule announced in 1994, the administrative fee of the above-mentioned changes is only five hundred NT dollars. However, in the newly revised rule, the administrative fee will be charged according to the complexity of each case. For instance, the administrative fee for the change of trademark design before the Trademark Authority’s approval is four thousand. In addition, the administrative fee for the change of the service mark designated goods is one thousand and five hundred NT dollars.
2. In accordance with the old rule, the administrative fee for change of registered particulars of a trademark after the Trademark Authority’s approval is five NT dollars, including the change of the class of trademark, reduction of items of the designated goods. However, according to the newly revised rule, the fee will be adjusted pursuant to the administrative cost and overhead. For instance, the change of the class of trademark after the Trademark Authority’s approval has been changed to two thousand NT dollars for each application.
3. Add the charge items on the termination of trademark licensing registration and the abolition of lien.
