Newly Promulgated Patent Guidelines on Extension Term and Patent-of-addition

The guideline on examination for extension of the term of qualified patents on medicines or pesticides has been put in force since September 14, 1999. The guidelines for patent-of-addition and associated new design have also been promulgated to be effective since August 18, 1999. Please refer to our July TIPS for a brief summary of the guidelines.
