Statistics of Criminal IPR Cases in 2000

According to the statistics released by the Ministry of Justice, of 2592 defendants in Copyright, Trademark, and Patent infringement cases in 2000, the courts sentenced 1447 people to jail, including 917 people sentenced to no more than 6 months, 89 between 6 months and one year, 248 between one year and 2 years, 5 between 2 years and 5 years, and 1 person sentenced to more than 5 years.
