Newly Revised Draft of Patent Attorney Law

Pursuant to Article 12 (4) of the Patent Law, “an additional law shall be enacted to regulate the qualifications and transactions of registered patent attorneys. Before the new law is enacted, Regulations for Registered Patent Attorneys shall govern.” The Economic Development Advisory Conference has resolved to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, to facilitate the establishment of an innovation-friendly environment, and to pass the revised draft of Patent Attorney Law as soon as possible. Accordingly, the Executive branch of Taiwan has proposed a new draft of Patent Attorney Law for legislative branch’s review.
