The lists of patent recipients do not differ much from those of the calendar years 2003 and 2004. The top domestic patent recipients are mostly data, semiconductor and communication related corporations, which amount to about 70% of all patent grants and reflect the industry trends in Taiwan. Optoelectronic industry continues to be a major player in this year. As for the foreign organization lists, Sony Corporation and Seiko Epson Corporation captured the titles of the foreign organizations receiving and filing most Taiwan patents from Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki Kaisha and Kabushiki Kaisha Toshiba, whereas Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V. kept the title of the foreign organization filing most Taiwan patents. Again, Japanese corporations continue to occupy most of the top ranking positions. |
